Major Security Overhall! November 1, 2017
« on: November 02, 2017, 12:35:49 AM »
Hey all......We're finally back up and running after nearly a week!    Our hosting provider took us off line as they found some code had been injected into parts of the site that might have taken you (the user) to other websites.   As a preventive measure they blocked all access to Muskoka Seaflea as we did a major site wide update to our internal security.   And we're not just talking about some minor stuff...we're talking big changes to our php code and plugins and other stuff that I can't even pronounce or even comprehend.   Anyway...the bottom line is that we are constantly making major behind-the-scene changes to keep our site spiffy clean!!!!!   Thanks for your patience!

Welcome back to Muskoka Seaflea (Fort Knox) edition!

Since this last security update I haven't been able to access the forum normally using Firefox with Linux Kubuntu. Firefox gives me a page with just script. It functions but isn't much fun. If I use Google Chrome or the open source version, Chromium, things are more dramatic. Once I have logged on and after a few seconds my laptop goes blank and the keyboard and mousepad shut down. I have to push the powerbutton until the laptop turns off. Fortunately the forum works fine if I use Konqueror which is a KDE browser that comes with Kubuntu.

It seems Muskoka Sea Flea website is still at least a little bit hacked. J.Muskoka (Chris) asked me to make this post. Is anybody else having these issues? Chris wants to know about it!

I finally found a workaround today. Firefox running on Windows 7 on VMWare player running on Kubuntu 14.04 doesn't remember the trouble and runs normally. Whew. Looking forward to Fleafest 2017 pix and video at your leisure, Chris!
